A Chester restaurant has had a rebrand - a little more than a year after it opened.

Goodwin's Bar & Kitchen in Upton Grange has now become one of Greene King's wide collection of Pub & Grill pubs and as part of the changes, has been renamed The Oak Tree.

The venue was initially known as The Race Horse before Goodwin's opened in November 2017.

And The Oak Tree is already proving to be a hit with customers, with scores of positive reviews praising the new menu and good service on TripAdvisor.

General Manager Lee Hughes said: “We’re now part of the Greene King collection of pubs offering a Pub & Grill menu, with new dishes including 30-day matured grass-fed steaks, a huge range of grilled burgers, and we’ve also introduced a number of new pub classic dishes too.

"As part of the changes, we have decided to rename the pub to the Oak Tree a reference to the oak trees that were used to mark field boundaries when Upton was a farming community.

"We’re really proud to be part of the community in Upton and look forward to welcoming new guests and returning guests to try the new dishes, which are available now," he added.
