Adults will get the rare chance to explore Chester Zoo after hours in a new series of events launched by the attraction.

Chester Zoo Lates gives you a chance to leave the kids at home and join zoo staff for an exclusive evening tour of its most popular habitats.

The first event, held next Friday, May 31 begins at The Oakfield gastropub before you'll be led over to the Madagascar habitat for an exlusive tour of the new lemur habitat.

Here you'll meet one of the zoo keepers and learn more about the unique species found only in Madagascar, including ring-tailed lemurs and the islands top predator, the fossa.

Lemurs at Chester Zoo

A Chester Zoo spokesperson explained: "We’re about to host the first of a new event series called Chester Zoo Lates.

"The zoo is often a day out for families, but this is a chance for people to leave the children at home and experience the zoo in a slightly different way, in the evening, with canapés and cocktails!

"This first event includes a tour of our new Madagascar habitat for lemurs and all proceeds from the event go towards our work as a conservation charity."

The event starts at 6.30pm – 9pm and costs £40 per person.  All guests must buy a ticket in advance and are to arrive at Gatehouse Entrance on Caughall Road.
