FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a grass fire in Chester which is believed to have been started deliberately.
One fire crew responded to reports of a fire in the open on Lower Park Road in Chester at about 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday, May 28).
On arrival the crew discovered a quantity of grass well alight.
Firefighters used two beaters to put out the fire.
They then used a hose reel jet to damp down the area and make it safe, monitoring temperatures with a thermal imaging camera.
It is believed that the fire was started deliberately.
Anyone with any information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 716090, or give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report.
