The cast of “Shameless” is scheduled to return to Chicago next week to film exterior scenes for Season 10.

A stuntman is slated to jump out of a slow-moving bus in the South Chicago community; a bus stop scene is expected to be shot downtown near Van Buren Street and Wabash Avenue; and a foot chase is slated for the Central Park Pink Line platform on the West Side, according to city permit application information posted online. Filming is expected to take place outside the places that double as Liam Gallagher’s school and the Gallagher home, which are by Douglas Park on the West Side.

Season 10 of “Shameless” — which follows the dysfunctional Gallagher family as it navigates life in Chicago — is scheduled to premiere at 8 p.m. Nov. 3 on the Showtime network. The series is mostly filmed on the Warner Brothers backlot in the Los Angeles area, but cast members typically shoot exterior scenes in Chicago for two weeks each season.

The “Shameless” cast usually films here in early August. When they’re in town, they’re typically spotted at Lollapalooza and various River North restaurants.

Season 10 features a bit of a cast shake-up. Emmy Rossum, who played matriarch Fiona Gallagher, departed last season. Cameron Monaghan, who plays LGBTQ activist Ian Gallagher, also left last season, but will be back this season. A trailer Showtime posted last week shows Ian Gallagher reuniting with love interest Mickey Milkovich (Noel Fisher) in prison.

The 10th season picks up six months after the Season 9 finale, which aired in March. Patriarch Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) uses a leg injury to collect prescription drugs; Debbie Gallagher (Emma Kenney) steps into Fiona Gallagher’s shoes; “Lip” Gallagher (Jeremy Allen White) navigates his relationship with Tami (Kate Miner); Carl Gallagher (Ethan Cutkosky) finishes military school and heads back to Chicago; and Liam Gallagher (Christian Isaiah) tries to learn more about African-American culture from neighbor Veronica Fisher (Shanola Hampton) as her husband, Kevin (Steve Howey), faces an identity crisis.
