Saad Muhammed, 33, is the Lincolnshire Police Department’s newest officer.
Q: How is your first day going?
A: So far so good.
Q: Where did you work before?
A: I worked as a full-time officer in the Oakton Community College Police Department. I was there for four and a half years. And part-time at Kildeer Police Department. I saw an opportunity here, I applied and I got the job.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a police officer?
A: Every day is a different day. And I like helping people.
Q: If you weren’t a police officer, what do you think you would be doing?
A: I think I’d still be back in the military.
Q: What excites you when you wake up each morning?
A: I have a 3-month old daughter. I wake up happy to see her and have her in my life.
Q: If you could invite anyone to dinner, living or dead, who would you invite and what would you talk about?
A: Probably my grandma, who passed away, just to talk family history.
Q: What’s something on your bucket list?
A: I’d want to get a ride in a fighter plane.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I hang out with friends. We play cricket on the weekends. It’s just a small group. We’re getting the team together and trying to get competitive so we can survive in leagues around here, but we’re just getting built up right now.
Q: What three words would you use to describe yourself?
A: Loving, approachable and loyal.
Q: What are you looking forward to in 2020?
A: Being successful at Lincolnshire Police Department.
