As Lincolnshire residents started logging onto the village’s website this year they will see a fresh look featuring the town’s new logo and other features.

The redesigned website, which debuted Jan. 1, marked the official start of a village rebranding that officials say they expect to last well into the new decade, giving a different look to street signs, entry signs and communications residents receive from the village.

“This is a good way to start 2020 with a new look for the next decade and beyond,” Assistant Village Manager Ben Gilbertson said. “It projects a professional, clean image. People will start seeing the new logo around town in the next several months.”

The village approved the redone logo and elements of a new marketing plan last year. Gilbertson said the village wanted to portray itself differently to potential new individual and business residents.

“The previous brand did not project a true identity,” Gilbertson said. “It did not advance the vision for Lincolnshire that will draw attention to people looking to locate here, move a business here or expand a business here.”

The new logo is visible on the homepage of the village’s website. Gilbertson said the graphics on the site are thoroughly redone, prominently featuring the new logo along with a fresher and cleaner look. Additionally, there are now a series of forms that can be downloaded, completed and returned to the village online. They are all features of the new brand.

During the first three months of this year Gilbertson said residents and visitors to the village will start seeing the new logo on street signs. That project will continue throughout 2020.

Toward the end of the year, Gilbertson said, the signs people see letting them know they are in Lincolnshire as they enter the village will be new. They will also be seen in parks and other public places.

Putting a fresh look on village vehicles like police cars and Public Works trucks will take longer. Gilbertson said that will be done as vehicles are replaced. Officials said that is the most cost-effective way to do it.

Gilbertson said the last formal update of the village’s logo was in 1976.
