The council suspended all charges in March to support essential services during the pandemic.

The decision to extend the suspension was made by Jane Hotchkiss, director for growth and place, following consultation with leader Eileen Lintill and Adrian Moss, chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

During a virtual meeting of the cabinet on Tuesday (May 12), Mrs Lintill told members that the situation would be kept under review.

She added that previously approved plans to increase charges in all council-run car parks had been delayed.

The decision was approved by all members and will be put to a meeting of the full council on May 19.
