Did the thunderstorms keep you awake last night?
Lightning strikes were captured on camera around the North East as storms arrived in our region in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Flashes of lightning were seen in Denton Burn, Prudhoe, Benton and Walker.
Plenty of Geordies were woken by the approaching storm and some even managed to film it light up the sky.
A thunderstorm warning had been issued by the Met Office covering most of Britain from 6pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday.
They warned of potential power cuts, damage from lightning strikes and poor driving conditions.
The heaviest rain was seen around the North East between 3am and 7am - but it was still humid and stuffy with temperatures as high as 21C overnight.
The heatwave is set to continue on Wednesday with fine, dry weather expected this afternoon and highs of 25C.
Thursday will also be another sunny summer's day with temperatures reaching 26C.
Looking ahead to next weekend, the Met Office expects temperatures to fall.

"There's some uncertainty though on just how long the heatwave conditions will last for," the forecaster said.
"It looks most likely that, at least by Saturday, most areas will see a bit of a drop in temperatures.
"There's still a lot of sunshine around for the weekend and temperatures probably look to be not quite as hot, but with a summery feel staying for the weekend."
