An investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead in a car park at St James’ Park.
The body of the woman, who police believe was sleeping rough, was discovered at 2.36am on Friday in the car park at Newcastle's football ground.
Emergency services attended the scene in the early hours but the woman has not yet been formally identified.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "An investigation is under way to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and a formal identification process is ongoing.
