Next weekend is the last one you'll have to sit through without a drink in town, a drink we're sure you're looking forward to.

Equally, many may have been avoiding the historic pubs of Newcastle in January, as they cut back on spending after the Christmas splurge.

To give you an idea of what you've been missing, and of where you could reward yourself with a drink next month, we take a look at some of the old Newcastle pubs and their stunning interiors.

They include the two oldest pubs in Newcastle City Centre, as well as some historic watering holes which have changed a fair bit over the years.
