There was great upset earlier this year when GAME closed its doors in Newcastle but if you're a keen gamer get ready to turn your frown upside down as it's back already!

Yes, the massively popular gaming company are ready to open a brand new shop right in the heart of the city centre. The new GAME store is set to open at intu Eldon Square opposite Card Factory on Tuesday, September 24.

And its arrival comes right on cue for the launch of FIFA 20, with a late-night opening planned for Thursday to celebrate the release of the game and give Geordie gamers the chance to be among the first to get their hands on a copy.

GAME manager Deepak Kohli told ChronicleLive he was thrilled that the brand had a presence in Newcastle once again.

"The reaction on our Twitter page to us closing in June was huge and people have been going mental about the new opening as well.

"There aren't many places in the area that are dedicated gaming shops and, with Newcastle having such a big gaming community, it's great to be back!"

Other big gaming launches coming before Christmas include Call of Duty in three weeks' time and Pokemon for Nintendo in November.

The new GAME Newcastle store will be open from 9am to 8pm Monday to Friday; 9am - 7pm on Saturdays and 11am - 5pm on Sundays.
