From this Monday, Newcastle shoppers can order wine and ready meals from Marks and Spencer among a whole load of extra products being made available for Deliveroo delivery in 30 minutes or even less.
The city branch is one of just 20 M&S stores across the UK chosen to offer the expanded home delivery service from May 4 and among the 130 extra items it includes are fresh fruit and vegetables as well as "restaurant-style" ready gastropub meals and Indian, Chinese and Italian dishes.
Customers ordering on the Deliveroo app won't have long to build up their appetites either as they can expect to have their food and drink brought to their doorstep "in as little as under 30 minutes", said a spokesman for the delivery company.
Also among the wider range they have to choose from are pasta, meat, free range eggs, soft drinks, toilet roll, biscuits and sweets including children's favourite Percy Pigs.
And those with a sweet tooth will find the likes of chocolate eclairs and New York cheesecake while boozy treats include Gold Sauvignon French white wine; Cotes du Rhone Villages French red wine and British Lager.
Those wanting to place an order will need to download the Deliveroo app on Google Play or the App Store. For more details see here. There are hopes to roll out the extended delivery services to other areas in the future.
