Coronavirus in Kentucky: Gov. Beshear announces five new deaths on Friday bring total to 391

Update 5:30 p.m.: The deadline to register for the Kentucky primary on June 23 is Tuesday, May 26. You can register to vote at elect.ky.gov. You can request an absentee ballot at govoteky.com. The deadline for requesting the absentee ballot is June 15. There will still be in-person voting for the primary. 

Update 5:20 p.m.: Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday announced five new deaths statewide; none were in Northern Kentucky. The total number of deaths statewide is now 391.

There are 30 new cases in Northern Kentucky, according to Beshear: 11 in Boone County, 16 in Kenton County and three in Campbell County. The commonwealth's numbers often differ from local health departments due to a lag in reporting.

Other Friday numbers across the commonwealth:

141 new positive cases 

8,426 total confirmed cases to date

171,330 total tests administered

3,069 have recovered

Update 5:14 p.m. Kentucky Director of Public Health Steven Stack urged the commonwealth's residents to continue using social distancing, wearing masks and hand washing to continue pressing ahead with reducing the risks of spreading the coronavirus over the Memorial Day weekend.
