One day after the Honolulu Fire Department confirmed one of its firefighters has COVID-19, it announced another case on Thursday.

Both firefighters are stationed at the Hawaii Kai station, and have been placed on leave to self-isolate until further notice, the department said.

All personnel from that station have been instructed to quarantine for 14 days, and the station, its trucks, and equipment have been sanitized and disinfected, according to the department.

“Personnel are being reassigned to allow the station to remain operational,” the department said in a news release.

The department said it is working with the City and County of Honolulu’s infectious disease officer and the Hawaii State Department of Health to ensure procedures are followed and adequate measures are taken.
