Where to watch the Super Bowl in Topeka

For the first time in 50 years, Kansas City Chiefs fans get to watch their home team compete for the NFL's top prize when the Chiefs play Feb. 2 in the Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl has become a day on which friends and families gather together to eat food and watch the game and commercials.

For those wanting to head to a local establishment to watch the game and enjoy some food and drinks, here is a list of venues hosting parties.

• Happy Basset Brewing Co., 6044 S.W. 29th St.: This watch party will include game day specials. More information will be posted later. Information: bit.ly/2RmARl5.

• Wild Horse Saloon, 3249 S.W. Topeka Blvd.: The bar will open at 4:30 p.m. for a watch party. There will be no cover, and drinks will be $1.25-$3.25 all night. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish for potluck. Information: bit.ly/2sYSMVE.

• Brass Rail Tavern, 401 N.E. Emmett St.: This bar will be hosting a watch party. Guests are encouraged to take part in a potluck. Information: bit.ly/2tRSL6j.

• 45th Street, 4601 S.W. Topeka Blvd.: This restaurant will host a watch party open to all ages and free to the public. Beer and food specials will be offered, and there will be a raffle and prize giveaway during each quarter of the game. Information: bit.ly/36pMZpu.

•The Woodshed, 1901 N. Kansas Ave.: Bring your own snacks and watch the Super Bowl on an 8x13 foot wall. Beers will be $3 and there will be door prizes. Information:https://bit.ly/2RxiKJm

•Gayle's, 600 N.W. Paramore St.: This bar will broadcast the Super Bowl on nine televisions, and will offer drink specials and free food. There will be giveaways and free jello shots when Chiefs make a touchdown. Information:https://bit.ly/2U5885Z

•KnJ's Sports Bar, 1900 N.E. Seward Ave.: From 3-11 p.m. this bar will offer food, and asks that everyone brings sides and snacks. Information:https://bit.ly/37wiBLz

•The Pennant, 915 S. Kansas Ave: The downtown Topeka restaurant, which features a full sports bar on its upper level, will be offering appetizer and drink specials throughout the day. Information: https://bit.ly/2GusLjZ

•West Side Baptist Church of Topeka, 1008 S.W. 4th St.: Starting at 5:30 p.m., this church will host a family-friendly party and ask guests bring their favorite snack and a non-alcoholic beverage.
