The Kansas Highway Patrol arrested three men Saturday after related incidents that included a chase, a car crash and a barricaded subject.

About 3:30 p.m., troopers tried to make a traffic stop near the 500 block of N.E. Grattan when the vehicle began a pursuit, according to highway patrol Lt. Bryce Whelpley.

The vehicle traveled west on Seward, then crashed at N.E. Branner Trafficway and N.E. Greeley.

The crashed vehicle was found to be stolen, Whelpley said.

Whelpley said a man threw a gun while running from the car, then hid in a shed.

The gun also was determined to have been stolen, Whelpley said.

Troopers were able to locate the man in a shed in the 200 block of N.E. Lake St., where he was taken into custody.

The man was arrested about 4:50 p.m., and people in the area who watched the arrest cheered as the man was taken to a police vehicle.

In a follow up, troopers returned to N.E. Grattan, where they located two men who tried to run from a second vehicle.

Whelpley said those two men also were eventually caught and arrested.

Troopers found the second vehicle also was stolen, as was a third vehicle located at a residence on N.E. Grattan.

Whelpley said a second stolen handgun also was recovered at the house on N.E. Grattan.
