No injuries were reported Monday morning when a car ran into a wooden power pole in west Topeka.

The crash was reported at 9:51 a.m. at the northwest corner of S.W. 8th and Wayne. Topeka police on the scene said a silver, four-door Hyundai Sonata ran into the Westar Energy pole.

The car sustained heavy front-end damage, but the male driver, who was alone in the car, was reported uninjured.

The impact caused the wooden power pole to buckle about 5 feet from the ground. Westar Energy crews were called to the scene to make repairs on the pole.
