A three-vehicle crash early Wednesday just south of Topeka sent one person to a local hospital with injuries that weren't considered to be life-threatening, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 7:20 a.m. at S.W. University Drive and Topeka Boulevard.

According to Shawnee County sheriff's officials, the crash occurred when a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was southbound on Topeka Boulevard attempted to turn east onto University Boulevard.

The pickup truck failed to yield to oncoming traffic, authorities said, and was struck by the Camaro and the Dodge pickup truck. Both the Camaro and Dodge pickup truck had been traveling north on Topeka Boulevard

Following the collision, the Dodge pickup truck struck a utility pole.

Sheriff's officials said the driver of the Dodge pickup truck, Ty Vogh, 22, of Topeka, was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to Stormont Vail Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

No injuries were reported to the driver of the Ford pickup truck, identified as Carl Bush, 82, of Topeka, or to the driver of the Camaro, identified as Karla Wiscombe, 56, of Overbrook.

In addition to the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office, the Shawnee Heights Fire Department, the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority Fire Department and first-responders from the Kansas Air National Guard 190th Air Refueling Wing assisted at the scene.
