No injuries were reported in a collision between a car and a school bus early Tuesday in southwest Topeka, authorities said.

The collision was reported about 7:55 a.m. in the 3600 block of S.W. Cambridge. The location was about six blocks east of S.W. 37th and Gage Boulevard.

Topeka police were called to the scene to investigate.

Initial reports indicated a Chevrolet Impala and a school bus collided.

The Kansas Central bus was carrying 14 elementary-aged students to McEachron Elementary at the time of the collision, Topeka USD 501 spokeswoman Erika Hall said. A new bus picked up the students from the crash site and continued to school.
