Retirements

Nancy Goodall, senior vice president and trust officer at CoreFirst Bank & Trust, will retire as of Feb. 15. A retirement reception in her honor will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Topeka Civic Theatre, 3028 S.W. 8th Ave. Goodall is a certified trust and financial planner and received her juris doctorate from Washburn University. She also holds a master's in tax law from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Goodall is active in the community, in particular at the Topeka Civic Theatre, where she has been the music director for countless performances. With over 35 years banking experience, Goodall has been a trust officer with CoreFirst Bank & Trust for 15 years, where she administers personal trusts, investment agency accounts and probate accounts.

Boards

The Topeka Public Schools Foundation recently held its annual meeting and announced new board members: Dick Carter, The Carter Group Inc; Steve Dean, Blue Cross and Blue Shield retiree; Janel Johnson, former USD 501 Board of Education member; Fatima Rodriguez Al-Makhim, TPS SPED paraprofessional; Chris Palmer, executive director of Cornerstone; and Clardy Vinson, retired Topeka High School principal. Nick Neukirch, Legacy Financial Strategies, TPSF investment committee chairman, replaces outgoing chairman Steve Page. 2020 TPSF Board officers elected: Ethel Edwards, president, replaces Dale Cushinberry, former Highland Park High School principal; Tracy Wagner, vice president; Aric Harrington, treasurer; Miranda Carmona, secretary; Grant Gould, nominating committee chairman; and Jana Sely, TPSF investment committee representative. Pamela Johnson Betts is the executive director.

The Topeka Community Foundation has elected three new board members for three-year terms beginning Jan. 1. They are officer Timothy Bell, Topeka Police Department; Keith Warta, CEO, Bartlett and West Inc.; and Robin Wolgast, community volunteer.

The Kansas Hospital Association Board of Directors has selected Chad Austin to fill the position of president and CEO for the Kansas Hospital Association upon the retirement of current KHA president and CEO Tom Bell.  Austin began his career at KHA in 1999 after graduating from the University of Kansas with a master’s degree in health services administration. Throughout his career at the hospital association, he has held responsibilities for managing all of the association’s data-related activities, rural health and Critical Access Hospital issues, and the oversight of the Kansas Rural Health Options Project. In Austin’s previous role as senior vice president of government relations, he oversaw all state and federal advocacy initiatives for the association. His duties also included the oversight of the association’s public relations, finance and reimbursement activities. Austin serves as an adjunct faculty member at Washburn University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Kansas Association of Health Care Executives. He is actively involved with the American Hospital Association, National Rural Health Association and the Kansas Society of Association Executives. Austin is a 2011 graduate of the Leadership Kansas program.
