Topeka police were investigating a possible robbery to an individual early Tuesday afternoon on the city's east side.

The incident was reported around 1:30 p.m. near S.E. 4th and Lafayette streets.

Police said a blue Mazda Protege was found unoccupied with its engine running just south of S.E. 4th Street in the entrance to the west alley of S.E. Lafayette. Officers were investigating whether the car might have been involved in the incident.

Police officers also were running a dog trail in the area in hopes of locating the person who fled from the car.

Meanwhile, police said they were interviewing the victim in the incident.

No injuries were reported.
