Topeka police officers have arrested a man after he barricaded himself inside an apartment

Brandon Baker, of Topeka, was arrested Wednesday in connection with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property and traffic charges.

According to a news release from Lt. Steve Roth, police officers responded to the area of S.W. 10th Avenue and Fairlawn Road for a suspicious vehicle which was found to be stolen.

Roth said when officers attempted to stop Baker, he attempted to elude and led officers to the 1200 block of S.W. Harvey.

Baker ran inside an apartment and refused to come out.

Roth said Baker exited the apartment after barricading inside for several hours.
