Topeka man arrested following domestic incident in Montara

A 47-year old man has been arrested following a domestic violence incident in the Montara neighborhood.

Jason G. Gfeller, of Topeka, was arrested in connection with domestic aggravated assault, aggravated intimidation of a victim, aggravated criminal threat and criminal damage to property.

According to a news release Friday from deputy Shayna Anderson, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office responded about 5:26 a.m. to the 7100 block of S.W. Greenview Drive on reports of a domestic incident.

Deputies arriving at the scene met with a female who reported a man was possibly inside the home and possibly armed.

The suspect was not found to be inside, Anderson said.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrants Unit began searching for the man, who was located about 11:30 a.m. at a motel in the 700 block of S.W. Fairlawn Road.

Gfeller was also arrested in connection with aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and assault for an incident that occurred May 24.
