Sarah Elizabeth Giner, 34, was being held Tuesday morning in the Shawnee County Jail in connection with crimes that included burglary.

A woman was arrested Monday evening after the interrupted burglary of a house in west Topeka, police said.

Shawnee County Jail records identified the woman as Sarah Elizabeth Giner, 34.

Giner was taken into custody in the 2600 block of S.W. Pinehurst Road, said Lt. Manny Munoz of the Topeka Police Department. Pinehurst, which runs east and west, is located just west of the 700 block of S.W. High Avenue.

“The victim arrived home and found the suspect in the house and called police,“ Munoz said. ”The victim waited outside for police and the suspect was seen walking out the door as the officer was arriving.“

Giner acted alone, according to Munoz, who said Giner was a stranger to the victim.

Giner was booked at 10:41 p.m. Monday into the Shawnee County Jail, where records indicated she was being held without bond Tuesday morning in connection with burglary, a felony, and one misdemeanor count each of theft and criminal damage to property.
