NOTO among top tourism sites in Topeka

The opinion article “Topeka Tourism News Credit to Many Efforts” on Aug. 13 missed an important destination area in the community — the NOTO Arts and Entertainment District. According to the guestbook in the NOTO Arts Center, in addition to visitors from all over Kansas, we have documented visitors from across the United States, from Alaska to Maryland and from Minnesota to Texas, as well as visitors from other countries including Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Puerto Rico, and just last week, Spain.

NOTO is a finalist in the Best of Topeka voting as Best Place to Take an Out-of-Towner and was awarded that recognition in both 2017 and 2018.

NOTO continues to make progress towards its vision as a “vibrant and prospering art and entertainment district” due to the strategic efforts of the NOTO Arts and Entertainment District organization and its Board, and certainly the hard work and entrepreneurship of the various small business owners who call NOTO home. Our efforts have been supported by donations large and small from individuals and organizations who believe in NOTO. Thanks to the outpouring of support, NOTO will soon offer the community Redbud Park, additional public art and enhancements throughout the district, and an arts center that will be the pride of the community.
