School closings due to severe weather

Potentially severe weather in Mississippi Thursday has led some school districts to change their schedules.

SCHOOLS

• Jackson Public School District canceled all after school activities, programs, and athletic events.

• Amite County Schools is closed.

• Biloxi School District will close 90 minutes early.

• Choctaw County School District will close at 12:30 p.m.

• Clinton Public Schools will close early. Clinton Park, Northside and Eastside elementary schools will close at 11:15 a.m. Lovett and Clinton junior high schools will close at noon. Sumner Hill and Clinton high schools will close at 12:20 p.m.

• Forrest County School District will close at 1 p.m., except for Rawls Springs Attendance Center which will close at 12:15 p.m.

• Forrest County Agricultural High School will close at 1:15 p.m. All after-school activities are canceled.

• Gulfport School District will close 90 minutes early. Elementary schools at 1 p.m., Middle schools at 1:30 p.m. and High school at 2 p.m.

• Harrison County School District will close 90 minutes early.

• Madison County Schools will close early. Elementary schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m., Middle schools at 12:15 p.m., and High schools at 12:30 p.m.

• Ocean Springs School District will close one hour early.

• Saint Joseph Catholic School will close at 1 p.m.

• Simpson County Schools will close at 12:30 p.m.

• Webster County School District will close at noon.

• University of Southern Mississippi will close all locations at 1 p.m.

OTHER

All libraries in the Jackson Hinds Library System will close at 1 p.m.  All Jackson Hinds libraries will have regular hour Friday.
