Entergy Mississippi reports that they have over 26,000 customers without power. Southern Pine Electric reports that over 5,000 members are without power.

Tornado warnings have been issued for Leake, Neshoba and Newton counties until 4:45 p.m.

A car and truck were flipped in the parking lot of Walmart in Clinton, Miss. during severe weather Thursday afternoon.

Due to the severe weather, all Rankin County School District elementary school buses are being held. Students are safe inside the school building, school officials said on their Facebook page.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency confirmed that a large and extremely dangerous tornado was located seven miles southeast of Raymond or 14 miles southwest of Clinton. It was moving northeast at 45 mph.

Severe thunderstorms are expected from late Thursday morning through early evening across the state, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said on social media.

Damaging wind, quarter-sized hail, flash flooding and tornadoes are likely with a strong tornado possible.
