Student in custody in Mississippi after bringing weapon to campus

A student is in custody for bringing a weapon to school Wednesday, according to the Corinth High School Facebook page.

The Corinth Police Department was called to Corinth High School after school officials received a report that a student had a weapon, the post said. The student was searched and a concealed weapon was found. The student was then taken into custody. The type of weapon found was not released and the student was not identified.

The Corinth School District said it is committed to providing safe and orderly schools for all of its children.
