BEREA, Ohio -- One of the Browns’ top contenders for one of the final wide receiver spots is headed to injured reserve with a hamstring injury. D.J. Montgomery, a starter at wide receiver on Saturday in Indianapolis, was placed on IR, the team announced. Safety Montrel Meander was claimed via waivers from the Jets.

Montgomery had three catches for 77 yards against the Colts and was among the group of receivers fighting for one of the final spots in the wide receiver group.

Meander signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling last year. He spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Browns’ practice squad before signing with the Raiders.
