CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Coby White has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.
The freshman guard from North Carolina made his move to the NBA official in early April. White should be a lottery pick in the draft June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Could he be an option for the Cavaliers?
Here is a look at White as a prospect:

What you should know: White stayed in his home state after playing for Greenfield School in Wilson, N.C. He is 19 years old and will not turn 20 until Feb. 16 next year. Additionally …
• He earned second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference as a freshman. In high school, he was North Carolina's Mr. Basketball and a McDonald's All-American.
• White scored a season-high 34 points Feb. 26 in a 93-85 win vs. Syracuse. He also had 33 points Nov. 22 in a 92-89 loss to Texas.
• He passed Michael Jordan on North Carolina's all-time freshman scoring list. Jordan had 460 points. White finished with 547 points, passing Jordan in early March.
• White plays for his father, Donald White, who died in 2017 after a battle with liver cancer. "He misses his dad every day," his mother, Bonita, told the New York Post. "He misses the fact that he didn’t see his senior year [of high school], nor was he here to see him play at Carolina."

What they're saying: “He’s always a threat,” Virginia coach Tony Bennett told The Daily Tar Heel. “He’s quick, he’s triple-threat, he can really hit you in transition.”
"White was more of a catch-and-shoot guard at the high school level, and that's really where he has found success this season, not yet showing that he is the most savvy pick-and-roll player," according to an ESPN scouting report.
How he can fit the Cavs: Looking for a backcourt combo with Collin Sexton? White could be just that. It will likely take a strong pre-draft showing to boost White's stock for the Cavaliers to consider him where they are picking.
Draft projection: Lottery pick
