CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Nassir Little has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.
The freshman forward from North Carolina made his move to the NBA official in early April. Little should be a first-round pick — and could make it into the lottery — during the draft June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Could he be an option for the Cavaliers?
Here is a look at Little as a prospect:
THE NASSIR LITTLE FILE
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 220 pounds
2018-19 stats: 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 48.5 field-goal percentage and 77.8 percent free-throw shooter in 18.3 minutes per game.
What you should know: A native of Pensacola, Fla., Little is 19 and will not turn 20 until Feb. 11. He came off the bench and played 35 games this season for the Tar Heels. Additionally …
• He was the McDonald's All-American Game MVP and co-MVP of the Jordan Brand Classic.
• At UNC, Little had his share of productive games. He came off the bench in his second career game to score 21 points with seven rebounds against Elon. Little scored a career-high 23 points with six rebounds in a Jan. 21 win against Virginia Tech. He also had one of his best games in the NCAA Tournament against Washington.
What they're saying: "Hard-nosed defender who can check up to four positions, allowing him to play some small-ball 4. Plays with energy. Will affect the game on the offensive and defensive glass. Late-rising prospect known for his toughness and intangibles," wrote ESPN draft analyst Mike Schmitz.
“He has an ability to get around that basket, and with the jumping ability and the quickness he has and the power that he has, he can hurt a lot of people inside,” North Carolina coach Roy Williams told the New York Post.
How he can fit the Cavs: If Little falls, he could be a steal for the Cavaliers with their second first-round pick from Houston. He is a combo forward and could provide energy off the bench.
