Romeo Langford NBA Draft 2019 profile: Stats, bio, video of the Indiana guard

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Romeo Langford has declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.

The one-and-done standout from Indiana made his move to the NBA official in early April. He should be a lottery pick in the draft June 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Could he be an option for the Cavaliers?

Here is a look at Langford as a prospect:

THE ROMEO LANGFORD FILE

Height: 6-foot-6

Weight: 215 pounds

2018-19 stats: 16.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 44.8 field-goal percentage, 27.2 percent 3-point shooter and 72.2 percent free-throw shooter in 34.1 minutes per game.

What you should know: Langford starred at New Albany High School in Indiana before remaining in state with the Hoosiers. He will turn 20 on Oct. 25. Additionally …

• Langford was Indiana's Mr. Basketball a year ago and a McDonald's All-American. He won a state championship as a sophomore.

• In college, he earned Big Ten All-Freshman team honors and second-team All-Big Ten.

• His college career ended with a back injury in the Big Ten tournament against Ohio State. It kept him out of the subsequent NIT.

• Langford's season highlights included a game-winning layup in double overtime that secured the Hoosiers a 75-73 win Feb. 26 vs. Wisconsin. Lanford had 22 points and seven rebounds. He twice scored a season high of 28 points in January vs. Illinois and at Maryland.

What they're saying: "Instinctive scorer. Difficult to contain in the open court or in a straight line with his strength, fluidity, body control and ability to get off his feet smoothly. Gets to the free throw line frequently. Shows potential as a jump-shooter. Career 80 percent on free throws," wrote ESPN draft analyst Jonathan Givony.

“He has to show he can be more consistent,” an unnamed scout told the Louisville Courier-Journal. “He’s losing millions of dollars right now with these games, and it’s partly his fault and partly his coaches’ fault.”

"He doesn't walk around and act as if I just saved IU," Indiana coach Archie Miller told ESPN. "I don't think he ever envisioned that in the recruiting process. ... He's like a normal 18-year-old. Yes, he's a really good player. He's not Superman."

How he can fit the Cavs: Move over Cedi Osman? Langford plugs in at small forward or shooting guard. His outside shooting at the college level suggests he will not immediately stretch defenses in the NBA, but he can be an impact player at both ends from the perimeter.

Draft projection: Lottery pick

NBA comparison: Jason Richardson
