Woman suspects ex-husband of drinking in presence of children: Gates Mills Police Blotter

Welfare check, Mayfield Road

A woman requested a welfare check on her children, who were attending the St. Francis Church festival June 6. She said they were with ex-husband and she was concerned he may be drinking alcohol. Officers located the man and the children and confirmed they were fine.

Drug possession, Mayfield Road

A Bedford Heights man, 21, was cited for drug abuse after his vehicle was pulled over for a headlight violation at 11:40 p.m. June 3. When questioned about the odor of marijuana, he handed officers a small baggie of the drug.

Traffic stop, Brigham Road

A Maple Heights man, 29, was cited for driving under suspension and speeding after his vehicle was pulled over June 4 for the latter offense.

Suspicious vehicle, Chartley Road

A resident said June 6 that there was an unoccupied vehicle parked in her driveway and she did not recognize it. Officers learned that the vehicle belonged to a friend of the resident’s husband, who had given permission for the vehicle to be there without her knowledge.
