Theft, West 220th Street

On Aug. 14 damage was reported to a work truck at Klotzbach Custom Builders. The catalytic converter had been cut off a 2003 Ford F350 dump truck that was parked in the back lot of the shop overnight. The owner said the truck had been parked there after work the day prior and was fine. Officers are working to determine if this theft is related to similar thefts in neighboring cities.

Protection order, West 226th Street

On Aug. 16 a woman reported her fiancé was staying at her house when they got in a fight and he left. She said she invited him over to her house so they could work things out. While he was sleeping on the couch, she discovered various text messages and pictures of his genitalia that he sent to another woman. After confronting him over the items on the phone, they began to argue. The fiancé threw and broke the woman’s phone. When she left to go to the bathroom, he followed her and grabbed her arm. He retrieved his phone and left the residence. Officers found him hiding behind a dumpster located in the rear of a Lorain Road business.

The fiancé was the subject of a temporary protection order from a July 18, 2019 domestic violence arrest in which the woman was the protected person. The fiancé was arrested for violating the protection order.
