FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio
Robbery: Lorain Road
On Sept. 24, the manager at Huntington Bank reported that the bank had been robbed and the suspect had fled on a skateboard. Officers quickly responded, but were unable to find the man.
Video footage from a nearby school and business captured the suspect skateboarding on West 215th Street, crossing Lorain Road, before getting into an older van parked opposite the west exit of Gunselman’s Tavern.
Two days later, a tip was received as to the identity of the bank robber. Fairview Park officers and the FBI followed up on the tip and found the van outside a residence in Parma a few days later. Officers were unable to find the man at first, but later received information that he had been dropped off in the area.
After a brief search, officers found the man and he was arrested by Parma police on several outstanding warrants. A Fairview Park officer interviewed the suspect, who admitted to the bank robbery in Fairview Park, as well as two others in Broadview Heights and Bath Township. The 37-year-old Parma man was charged.
