Man spits in officer’s face: Fairview Park Police Blotter

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio

Felonious assault: Brookpark Road

On Sept. 30, officers went to the Ramada Inn lobby on a report of a bloody man. When officers arrived, they found a 60-year-old Brunswick man with injuries to his face and head. He directed officers to room 161, where they found his assailant, a 45-year-old man from Stoneham, Mass.

After further investigation, it was discovered that the men had met in a bar located on the motel property. They went back to the motel room, where an argument ensued and the 45-year-old assaulted the older man.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 45-year-old was arrested.

Theft: Wooster Road

On Sept. 30, an officer on patrol in the parking lot at the Fairview Village Apartments was flagged down by a resident, who reported that the license plates had been taken from her 2006 Kia SUV.

Stolen car: Lorain Road

On Oct. 2, while officers were patrolling the parking lot of the Fairview Park Regional Library, an officer was alerted by the automated license plate reader on his cruiser to a car with stolen license plates parked in the lot.

When he investigated, he found a 2009 Kia SUV with the license plates taken from the 2006 Kia in the lot at Fairview Village Apartments on Sept. 30. Upon further investigation, he learned that the 2009 KIA had been stolen out of Cleveland on Sept. 14.

Assault: Lorain Road

On Oct. 4, an officer on patrol at Fairview Tavern reported a man stealing items from cars in the parking lot. Officers found a 33-year-old Lorain man with stolen items from cars and took him into custody.

He resisted officers’ attempts to put him in the rear of the police cruiser. Once in the car, he threatened to hurt or shoot officers and tried to kick the window out of the car.

At the police station, the man spit in an officer’s face and mouth.
