Drunk man assaults officer in bar: Fairview Park Police Blotter

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio

Suspicious person: Lorain Road

On Oct. 28, a man was reported walking in the middle of the road with an open beer. Officers found two men in the roadway, but did not see any open containers. Checking on the two men, it was found that one had an active burglary warrant from Rocky River. The 24-year-old Fairview Park man was arrested on the warrant.

Disturbance: Lorain Road

On Oct. 30, several calls were made regarding a fight inside Inn The Drink. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the floor of the bar. As an officer approached, the man tried getting up and was told to stay on the ground. He continued to try to get up, yelling racial and religious epithets.

The officer ordered him to the ground, but the man refused and, while the officer worked to get control of him, the man started hitting the officer in the chest and arms. The man then fell backward into a large table, knocking it over. The officer got control of him and the man was eventually arrested.

Fraud: Lorain Road

On Nov. 1, two separate, unrelated incidents of fraud were reported. In one instance, a resident reported that someone had obtained an iPhone from Verizon using her information. She has an AT&T account.

In another, a resident reported that someone had purchased movie tickets in Florida via his credit card account.
