$8,000 in vintage baseball cards stolen from home: Fairview Park Police Blotter

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio

Identity theft: Belvidere Drive

On May 11, a resident reported that someone had opened up a Verizon cell phone account in his name. The fraud was discovered when a bill for over $350 came to his house for a new account. Verizon closed out the account and the resident is not responsible for the charge.

Grand theft: Westwood Avenue

On May 12, a resident reported the theft of over $8,000 in vintage baseball cards. He believes the theft occurred sometime in January. He further believes it may have been perpetrated by someone who had access to a set of keys to a safe, which another family member had in their possession.

Petty theft: Lorain Road

On May 14, a gas station employee reported that a man stole cigarettes and an energy drink. The employee saw the man put the drink in his jacket, then come to the counter to get cigarettes.

When she gave him the cigarettes, she confronted him and asked if he was going to pay for the drink, also. The man grabbed the cigarettes and left the store, without paying for any of the items.

The employee saw the man’s identification and also obtained a license plate number of the car when he left. Video surveillance footage was also obtained of the car. The man was identified and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
