An Amazon delivery driver reported being bitten on the forearm by a dog while delivering a package at a home May 25. She said she was sitting in her vehicle with the window down and a small dog jumped up on the door and bit her.

She was treated for the wound by Mayfield Heights EMS at the station. Police advised the homeowner of the incident.

Welfare check: Hillcreek Lane

A woman said May 23 that she had received an emergency alert from her daughter’s cell phone but was unable to speak with her. She asked officers to check her welfare at her home, which they did. They confirmed that she was fine.

It was learned the caller’s grandchild had been playing with her mother’s cell phone and accidentally sent the alert to her grandmother.

Disturbance: SOM Center Road

Officers responded to a residence May 24 for a report of a disturbance. They learned that a woman and her daughter were arguing over a plumbing issue they were having in the home. A neighbor subsequently came to the house to assist with the plumbing.

Harassing communication: Gates Mills Boulevard

A resident, who is employed as an insurance agent, reported May 24 that a client was sending harassing text messages to him. He said the Cleveland woman was upset because he had told her that an automotive claim would not be processed until a report was filed in Chesterland, where the incident occurred. She had wanted him to process the claim without a police report.

Suspicion: County Line Road

Officers responded to the area near Cedar Road May 28 for a report of a man in a reflective vest walking through back yards. They confirmed he was a utility worker and checked OK.
