Akron police searching for man accused in drive-by shooting

Akron police are searching for Aries Williams-Gooden, 22, of Akron.

AKRON, Ohio -- Police are searching for a man accused of shooting at vehicles Monday afternoon in Akron’s North Hill neighborhood.

Aries Williams-Gooden, 22, faces a charge of felonious assault. Police believe he is armed and dangerous.

Officers responded just after 1 p.m. to shots fired on the 1000 block of Murray Avenue. A 34-year-old man who lives on the street reported he was picking up trash near his home when he saw people in a tan minivan shooting at another vehicle, police said.

One of the bullets struck the resident’s vehicle, but no one was hurt. The resident got into his vehicle and drove away, then returned when officers arrived.
