Medina County human services levy will strengthen our community

On Nov. 5, Medina County residents will be presented with an opportunity to help those in our community with real needs. By voting for Issue 11 -- the human services levy -- three agencies will be able to continue funding much needed community services.

As both the sheriff of Medina County and a longtime member of the ADAMH Board’s Board of Directors, I can tell you firsthand how lucky Medina County is to have such a collaborative group working together for the good of the community.

The Office for Older Adults, Job & Family Services, and the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board are working together, asking for a 1-mill levy that will cost less than $3 per month per $100,000 property value.

This funding will help these agencies keep up with the expanding needs of older adults, abused and neglected children, and those with mental health and substance abuse issues. These agencies provide assistance for our families, neighbors and friends.

Please join me in supporting Issue 11.

Sheriff Tom Miller,

Brunswick
