Fort Collins, Platte River Power Authority want your feedback on their environmental goals

Fort Collins and Platte River Power Authority want to hear what you think about the city's climate goals and the power provider's plans for the future.

The city is hosting a series of community conversations to help inform its "Our Climate Future" planning effort, a project to update Fort Collins' Climate Action Plan, Energy Policy and Road to Zero Waste initiative. Meanwhile, Fort Collins power provider Platte River Power Authority is holding a series of listening sessions to offer an update and seek feedback about its 2020 Integrated Resource Plan.

Platte River’s delivered electricity to Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park and Longmont is about 30% renewable. By 2021, it will be about 50% renewable after the addition of new wind and solar resources.

Platte River's IRP will set the path for the next five years as the power provider moves toward its goal of achieving a 100% noncarbon electricity mix by 2030.

Meanwhile, Fort Collins is updating its plans to achieve goals of carbon neutrality by 2050, 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and zero waste by 2030.
