Forecast snow totals for Fort Collins and around Colorado with the next storm

Fort Collins is forecast to see wind but not much snow with the storm expected to hit the state this evening into Thursday morning.

Roads in the area are not expected to be impacted with this quick-moving system dropping down from the northwest, but some areas of the state will see up to a foot of snow.

Here is what you need to know:

Fort Collins forecast

The National Weather Service is calling for a 40% chance of snow today with a high of 53. However, it will be breezy with a northwest wind of 14 to 20 mph, gusting to 25 mph. Tonight there is a 60% chance of snow showers with snow accumulation of less than an inch.

Thursday will be cool, with a high of 43, and Friday warmer at 60, with both days seeing the wind die down.

Saturday looks beautiful at 68 degrees, but then another system moves in Saturday night with the high Sunday near 36 degrees and snow showers likely. We will have more about how this storm might impact you as it draws closer.

Who gets snow with this storm?

The bull's-eye looks to be southwest of Denver. NWS reports the worst driving conditions will be found along and west of Interstate 25 along and south of Interstate 70.

Denver: 2 inches

Estes Park: 1-3 inches

Red Feather Lakes: 1-2 inches

Cheyenne, Wyo.: 1 inch

Boulder: 2 inches

Steamboat Springs: 1 inch

Breckenridge: 2 inches

Conifer: 8-12 inches

Castle Rock: 6 inches

Colorado Springs: 5 inches

Walsenburg: 7 inches
