The best thing to come out of this movie was Hans Zimmer's score, too bad they wasted him on such a mediocre movie. Bring him back Feige!

"The Cerebro effects in Dark Phoenix were pretty unique but it didn't really factor into the story all that much. Will Marvel Studios avoid using it? That definitely seems likely but time will tell."

If this is the case, why even bother with the MCU at this point. Simply because it's been done before is not a good reason to avoid including it. Same excuse has been used for the mess of character portrayals that makes up the MCU Spider-man series.

Just include comic inspired aspects and do so well. Cerebro can be included and done better if the MCU wants. We should not have to sacrifice elements of the comics simply because someone else tried to adapt them in the past.

@Scarilian - I mostly agree with this. For instance, Cerebro is a mainstay of the X-Men to the point of almost being a character in it's own right. By that I mean, you wouldn't do an X-Men film without Xavier or Wolverine, and you shouldn't do one without Cerebro. It's too important. Not having Cerebro leaves us with what? Xavier or Jean being powerful enough to detect every mutant mind on the planet at all times? That's just silly.

Not to mention Cerebro in the Fox films was way different looking. They can present it in a very different way than making it a giant round room.

But having said that, I think it would be wise for Marvel to stay away from the Phoenix story for a while. After two failed films already I can't see the general audience getting excited for that again any time soon.

So yeah, certain elements should never be excluded. But certain stories should be.

This is why I'm torn over whether Jean should even be in MCU. The ONLY thing she's known for and the ONLY thing that makes her interesting in the slightest is the Phoenix Force. Part of me would almost rather the MCU start out with Emma Frost being the female psychic on the team instead of Jean.....depending on how they implement the team in the MCU. But then you lose all the great stuff with Sinister, Scott and Jean....

Without seeing it in the context of the movie, isn't a little odd that Cyclops is look straight ahead and his blast is angled to his left?

Amazing that the previz shots all look like final shots from a Fox X-Men movie

@WeaponXCII - For her to make ice cubes and out-of-context jokes about frogs and lightning.

"These movies never fully explored the extent of his (Cyclops) powers, though!"

"Storm didn't really get a huge amount to do in Dark Phoenix and is nowhere near as powerful as her comic book counterpart"

So, they basically repeated previously mistakes. Got it.
