Chester's Chicken To Go opens location in Downtown Memphis

Downtown Memphis has a new quick-service fried chicken restaurant.

On Thursday, Chester’s Chicken To Go opened at 135 S. Main St. in the space that was most recently Bluefin Express.

For months now, signs at the location adjacent to Bluefin restaurant have been touting that “the king of fried chicken” was coming.

Chester’s is known for its fried chicken tenders. The company uses a secret family recipe that is more than 50 years old. Their process of double breading each piece of chicken ensures a crispy outside and a tender, moist inside. Most locations are in convenience stores, supermarkets or food courts.

In addition to chicken tenders, the restaurant also serves chicken biscuits, chicken livers and gizzards, bone-in chicken by the piece and assorted sides. An assortment of dipping sauces is also available.

The restaurant is takeout only, with no seating inside the location.
