Memphis firefighter paramedic Grant Langer dies at 23 while off duty

The Memphis Fire Department wrote a heartfelt condolence post on its Facebook page in honor of firefighter paramedic Grant Langer Sunday.

"We are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic off-duty death of firefighter paramedic Grant Langer," the post stated. "He was a valued member of our MFD family and will be missed by all."

Langer, 23, died Saturday while off duty. The post did not clarify how he died.

He was a two year veteran of the department, MFD said.

"May he rest in peace and his family be comforted during this time," the MFD tweeted along with "#BluffCityBravest."

The department also changed their profile picture to the serviceman Sunday.
