Memphis might get a visit from Lil Nas X after this 'Old Town Road' video

Lil Nas X, the rapper who wrote the genre-bending hit "Old Town Road", might be considering a visit to Memphis after seeing students at the University of Memphis riding atop of a bronze tiger in front of the student center while the chart-topping hit played in the background. 

Responding to the video on his Instagram account, Lil Nas X asked, "what school is this i'm tryna pop up (sic)."

The University of Memphis issued an enthusiastic response, and invited the singer to come to Memphis and swap an old town road for Beale Street. 

The exchange between the university and the rapper has echoed across multiple social media platforms, and has elicited a sense of pride from many. 

At press time, it is unknown whether Lil Nas X will visit Memphis, or if he will arrive by horseback.
