Man charged with murder in shooting that killed one teen, injured another, police say

Memphis police charged a man Saturday in connection with a shooting on April 15 that left one teenager dead and another injured, according to police. 

Timothy Miers, 26, was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder after two 17-year-olds were shot after an argument, according to police.

Officers said Miers and the two teenagers met for a prearranged meeting. After a confrontation began, Miers armed himself with a gun and began shooting at them, according to police. 

Anterio Worthy, 17, was pronounced dead at Regional One Hospital. The other teenage male victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition, police said. 

Mier is next due in court Friday.
