One woman shot on I-40, eastbound traffic blocked, Memphis police says

 Memphis police were investigating an interstate shooting where a woman was shot around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. 

The investigation forced authorities to close eastbound portions of Interstate 40 near Warford Street but did not affect westbound traffic.

The woman was transported to Regional Medical Center by the Memphis Fire Department in non-critical condition. 

Police said the suspects were possibly in a white Dodge. Officer said the cause of the shooting is not determined.

The interstate closure was expected to be lifted before 2 p.m. Wednesday.
