TIGER FOOTBALL

Memphis vs. Tulsa football score predictions, who has the edge

Jason Munz
Memphis Commercial Appeal

The Tigers blasted Tulane last week 47-17, obliterating the spread as well as all of The Commercial Appeal and USA TODAY Network-Tennessee's score predictions.

In another contest between AAC West division foes, kickoff between Memphis (5-1, 2-1) and Tulsa (2-5, 0-3) is set for 6 p.m. Saturday at Tulsa.

Here's how our seven-member panel sees the game playing out.

Evan Barnes, Memphis beat writer

Memphis 38, Tulsa 14: The Tigers won’t look ahead to SMU (Nov. 2) but will remain sharp and come home with a win that’ll be – to quote Tulsa’s own The Gap Band – outstanding.

Mark Giannotto, columnist

Memphis 38, Tulsa 21: Tulsa will keep it close for awhile, but the Tigers finally looked like the juggernaut we all hoped they’d be last week. Memphis keeps it rolling right into next week’s showdown with SMU.

Jason Munz, Memphis beat writer

Memphis 45, Tulsa 13: The Tigers got their groove back last week against Tulane. The beat will go on against the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa has the fourth-worst rushing defense in the AAC. Kenneth Gainwell will feast.

David Cobb, Grizzlies beat writer

Memphis 52, Tulsa 17: This train is rolling and Tulsa ain't stopping it.

Khari Thompson, prep sports reporter

Memphis 38, Tulsa 14: Another week, another blowout win for the Tigers.

Tommy Deas, regional sports director

Memphis 30, Tulsa 24: The Golden Hurricane has been able to hang tough with some good teams and this could be a trap game for a Memphis team that might be looking ahead to SMU. The Tigers will triumph but won’t put Tulsa away.

Phil Kaplan, college sports editor

Memphis 25, Tulsa 19: Hard to figure out Tulsa. Beat Wyoming, take SMU to OT, crushed by Navy, play Cincinnati close. Points won't be easy against Memphis.
